Environmental Management System
Today many organizations have to meet the ever-growing pressure of complying with stringent environmental regulations. The most effective way to control these issues is to introduce a formal environmental management system (EMS) which assists organizations to continually improve their ability in identifying, minimizing, avoiding and managing environmental impacts. There are 5 courses to facilitate organizations in the implementation of an Environmental Management System.
Course Code: EMS/1 IEMA Approved ISO 14001 Advanced EMS Auditor Training Course (5 DAYS) Objectives: This course is certified by IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment, formerly EARA). It enables delegates to acquire a broad understanding of the possible range of "environmental aspects", environmental legislation, and regulations for organizations seeking to comply with the requirements of ISO 14001 and other Environmental Management Systems (EMS). It is designed for the delegates who are currently working as auditors in the management system of quality or health & safety field and wish to develop the auditing skills, methodologies and best practice in the auditing of Environmental Management System.
Outline: Introduction to EMS Requirements: Interpretation of ISO 14001 Standard Identification & evaluation of environmental aspects Audit planning, preparation, performance, review, report and follow-up Selection criteria, responsibilities and auditing skills of auditors Establishment of environmental policies, objectives and programs Contents of environmental legislation
Certificates: Delegates who successfully complete the course and pass the examination will be issued a certificate which fulfills the training requirements for qualifying as IEMA approved EMS auditor.
Course Code: EMS/2 ISO 14000 EMS Internal Auditor Training Course (2 DAYS) Objectives: This course provides delegates with an understanding of the requirements of ISO 14001 and an overview of the possible range of "environmental aspects". It ensures delegates the skills and knowledge to conduct an internal audit for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and gives insight and guidance in the assessment of environmental performance and the monitoring of improvement.

Course Code: EMS/3a Environmental Rules and Regulations in Construction Industry (1/2 DAY) Objectives: This course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of the Hong Kong environmental legislation pertaining to the construction industry. It enables delegates to acquire the technical knowledge for subsequent establishment and implementation of their companies' environmental management systems.
Outline: Meaning of "4.3.2 Legal & Other Requirements" in ISO 14001 Introduction to HK environmental legislation system and structure Industry-specific pollution-related ordinance in air, water, noise, waste, dangerous goods/chemicals and other applicable regulations in the construction industry
Certificates: Delegates who successfully complete the course will be issued a certificate by SGS.
Course Code: EMS/3b Environmental Rules and Regulations in Property Management (1/2 DAY)
Objectives: This half-day course provides delegates with an understanding of the Hong Kong environmental legislation pertaining to property management. It enables delegates to acquire the technical knowledge for subsequent establishment and implementation of their companies' environmental management system.

Course Code: EMS/4 Practical Tools for Environmental Aspects Evaluation and Identification (1 DAY)
Objectives: Environmental Aspects Evaluation and Identification is the core and most important step to start an environmental management system. This one-day course aims to provide delegates an understanding of the practical and effective methods used in environmental aspect identifications and their evaluations. Upon completion of this course, the delegates are equipped with the concepts and tools to perform their own aspects evaluation.
